Millersport Ohio School

 

Sweet Corn Festival in 1947.  The Lions picture includes local businessmen and Lions Club Members, (left to right) Fred Berry, owner of Berry's Restaurant, Russell Bowers, co-owner of Bowers and Haver Red and White store, and Ira John, owner of Millersport Garage.  They are cooking corn.  The location is on Chatauqua Blvd., right behind the Spurgeon house.

The WSCS (Women's Society of Christian Service) had the first booth, a food booth, at the corner of Lancaster St. and Chatauqua Blvd.  The women pictured are (left to right) Audrey Johnson, Genevieve Spurgeon, Emma John, unknown, and Ida Fisher. Ira and Emma John are Dick Hanby's grandparents.
